"Blue Point" was composed after Samuel Blaser tasted a wonderful beer from the Long Island-based brewery. Imbued by the spirit of Miles Davis, the tune starts with a mysterious melody that floats through the air and suddenly gets into a soulful energetic earthy groove. Michael Blake takes a very bluesy first solo on soprano sax, followed by Russ Lossing on the Rhodes before returning to the initial melody played rubato and superimposed on a closing groove.
